Counselor Vision Statement:

Norco Elementary School counselors are committed to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment where every student thrives. We aim to cultivate well-rounded individuals, equipping them with the social and emotional well-being and lifelong learning skills essential for future academic and personal success.

Services we offer:

1. SEL (Social-emotional learning) class lessons during enrichment periods
  • hour-long class lessons focused on the three counseling domains: academic, personal/social, and career development
  • at the elementary level, social/ emotional development tends to be the most important

2. Individual check-ins

3. Small groups (based on topic throughout the year)

4. Referrals for community services or outside counseling for consistent or weekly counseling

Topics your counselor can help with:

  • Friendship
  • Self-esteem
  • Decision-making
  • Grief
  • Transitions
  • Coping strategies
  • Conflict resolution
  • Study skills
  • Regulating emotions
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
